I do not shout "GENIUS" for the content, but I say "A BIG THANK YOU" for the courageous and refreshing concept.

In the US you can guys raise funds for such ideas, and substantial funds, in Europe we are still looking for our specificity and the only successful projects have no other choice than being global. A few ones, only the very, truly most innovative will succeed.

What's more, a sitcom web-tv-ed / blogged would hardly be profitable in our country.

But I would like to know if some of you are interested in the discussion.

It is a challenging concept for anyone to combine his entrepreneurial concerns, with aspirations of author. Needless to say, it would be a blessing, an old fantasy: to "create" in both senses of the term, as an entrepreneur and as a producer of an endearing film production. Whoever addresses a message to the world (and earns a living doing so at the same time) cannot be accused of cynicism: this is just an individual self fullfilled, who had the intelligence to create a meaning in his life ... I know something about that, I am tired of corportate films and other "e-pub" full of on-line mediocrity.

Anyway.
It is nevertheless hard to imagine a way to reward such an initiative other than through advertising.
And it is difficult in a country like France, where I try to earn my living, to imagine a show broadcasted through a web-tv reaching breakeven ... Unless they have "THE" good idea, unifying enough on a highly seeked target.

And to legitimize a real incomes, we must show credibility with a convincing scenario writing, forging a loyal audience : which could go very far in terms of costs if we are to meet a number of quality standards.

Now that we are completing the construction, at Webcastory, of our TV studios (the last touch of decoration will be done on April 10th - I don't tell you how deep the emotion is, after so many battles in order to achieve self-financing), I feel full of good intentions and creative aspirations.

I do more than welcome whoever would like to share here, with open arms, a desire to co-produce with us innovative content. I believe that the web-TV for others, ok, it is essential to earn a living and trying to move to enhance our expertise.

But I did come so far with a secondary objective : to create my own.

Break a leg TV is just an excellent model : bravissimo to you guys.

Car c'est un concept motivant pour quiconque combine à sa démarche entrepreneuriale une préoccupation et des aspirations d'auteur. Autant dire une bénédiction, un vieux fantasme : créer dans le double sens du terme, comme chef d'entreprise et comme chef d'orchestre d'une production filmique attachante. Quiconque adresse au monde un message et le fait pour gagner sa vie au passage ne peut être taxé de cynisme : voilà juste un individu comblé, qui a eu l'intelligence de créer un peu de sens dans sa vie... J'en sais quelque chose, je suis fatigué des films corporates et autre "e-pub" médiocres.

Bref.
Difficile néanmoins d'imaginer une façon de se rétribuer autre que la pub.
Et difficile dans un pays comme la France, où je m'efforce de gagner ma vie, d'imaginer sur un show web-tv un reve'nu publicitaire conséquent... à moins d'avoir "LA" bonne idée, suffisamment fédératrice sur une cible hautement courtisée.

Et pour légitimer un véritable revenu, il faut crédibiliser le show avec des textes convaincants, se forger un public fidèle : ce qui peut aller très loin en termes de coûts si l'on souhaite satisfaire un certain nombre de standards de qualité.

Maintenant que nous achevons chez Webcastory la construction de nos studios TV (la dernière touche de décor sera posée le 10 avril, que d'émotion après tant de combats pour y parvenir en autofinancement), je me sens rempli de bonnes intentions et d'envies débordantes.

Je n'attends plus qu'à accueillir à bras ouverts toutes personnes ayant le souhait de co-produire avec nous des contenus innovants. Je crois que la web-TV pour les autres, ok, c'est indispensable pour gagner sa vie et tenter au passage d'y valoriser notre expertise.

Mais je ne suis arrivé jusqu'ici qu'avec pour moteur cet objectif secondaire : créer les miennes.]
